Struthers & Carter is a name synonymous with customer service. Since Norman Carter established the business almost 70 years ago we have focussed on offering all of our customers the same reliable and efficient service. It is this emphasis on offering the products you require at the time that you need them that has seen Struthers & Carter become a leading stockholder in the region.

We have invested heavily in the stocks and machinery needed to maintain our high service levels. We currently hold stocks in excess of 3,500 tonnes and our in-house processing facilities include 5 saws and shotblasting and priming plant. This is all supported by our own fleet of vehicles.

 The levels of service provided from our Hull site are enhanced by being part of the Barrett Group of companies, which is one of the largest independent steel stockholding groups in the country.

The group consists of over 25 general steel depots along with specialist sites for Tubes, Precision Tubes, Engineering Bar and Profiling holding in excess of 80,000 tonnes of stock. With all of our sites having a cutting capability and seven of them housing shotblasting and priming plants the Barrett Group offers large stocks and high levels of service across the country.

Our new Omega Steel site specialising in the processing of structural sections represents a £6 million investment in some of the most technologically advanced machinery available today. We have also added a Jumbo Laser Tube cutting machine, which is the largest one in the country and the only one able to cut tubes over 550 mm wide and 18 m long, to the existing three laser tube machines at our specialist Tubes site.
